Renewing software around operators’ work

Malgorani used warehouse software built around its own working practices. After taking over the previous solution, we developed the new application using MTOsuite.

The renewal started with a clear decision: retain useful reference points in the interface for operators. The new foundation needed to support the department’s work, taking existing steps and habits into account.

Bringing warehouse management to tablets

The first part of the project covered warehouse operations and stock movements. We extended access to tablets and integrated professional barcode readers, allowing operations directly from a forklift.

Stock movement management was supplemented by a view of items below their stock threshold, supporting reordering. Warehouse information became the starting point for developing other parts of the system.

From the warehouse to maintenance and MES

A later stage brought equipment maintenance into the system: deadlines, service history, costs and materials to purchase, brought together in a central tool in place of separate spreadsheets and files.

Development continued with MES features for production times and quality checks, replacing paper tables with digital data collection in this area too. The project shows how the same foundation can be extended as new operational needs arise.

Hosting, support and agreed development accompany this evolution, from the first warehouse module to the areas added over time.
