We are working on a major upgrade of MTOsuite, our foundation for building custom business software and applications. The changes concern the product’s foundations: developing shared tools while preserving what makes each project specific.
A growing foundation that supports your way of working
Custom business software needs to follow tasks, rules and people. At the same time, features such as data management, access controls and connections to other applications can benefit from a maintained, shared foundation.
Our current work makes this separation more structured. The shared foundation brings together reusable components; dedicated modules continue to meet each company’s needs. This allows the product to grow while retaining the differences between installations.
More useful data and better connected systems
Areas of development include tools for viewing and filtering data, Excel exports in enabled sections and standard REST APIs. The APIs allow other software to read, create, update and delete exposed information, respecting authentication and permissions.
When a project requires specific operations, custom APIs can complement the standard foundation. This provides a starting point for connecting business systems, portals and applications, or developing a dedicated backend: integrations are defined around the systems and data involved.
A phased update
The major upgrade is in development and testing. New features are rolled out gradually: adoption requires compatibility checks and a planned release for each installation.
Standard improvements to the shared foundation are included in the subscription and made available progressively, with no additional charge for new shared features. Dedicated modules, custom integrations and specific requests have a scope agreed separately.
